Whitesnake – The Definitive Biography
Back in 1989 Simon Robinson of the Deep Purple Appreciation Society wrote the first (and only) comprehensive biography of Whitesnake, covering the band’s career from David Coverdale’s early solo steps to the imminent arrival of the hotly-tipped successor to the ten million-plus selling ‘1987’ album.
With ‘Whitesnake – An Illustrated Biography’ long out of print Simon proposed a new version, and - feeling he'd not kept sufficiently up to date with the band's story - asked me to bring the book up-to-date and add a review of every release from 1977’s ‘Whitesnake’ onwards. While I was doing that Simon took the time to re-work much of the original text, and once I’d completed my part he re-edited the whole book to make it flow better. With the addition of an extremely comprehensive gig list, the 12” by 12" book (handy to stand in the record racks) clocks in at a weighty 300 pages and is a treasure trove of information, rare photographs and memorabilia.
There are two versions available, but be warned: this is a collector’s item so comes with a luxury price tag, whichever version you take a fancy to. But if you’re after a copy go to www.rslimitededitions.com.
